Supervisors Of The Checklist Of Salem Meet Jan. 10
New voters can register to vote for the first-in-the-nation NH presidential primary, but it is too late to change party designation.

SALEM, NH — The Supervisors of the Checklist of Salem will be in session from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, on the lower level of the Municipal Office Building for the purpose of registering new voters for the upcoming New Hampshire Presidential Primary.
Registered voters may also make changes or corrections to their existing data at this session.
This will be the last opportunity for a resident of Salem to register to vote if he/she wants their name to appear on the checklist that will be used for New Hampshire Presidential Primary on Tuesday, Jan. 23. New Hampshire election law does, however, allow a person to register to vote at the polls if they are 18 years old and present required documentation. A picture ID and proof of domicile is required. (A driver’s license is acceptable.) Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers.

Voters who are already registered MAY NOT change their affiliation at this session (RSA 654:33) and MUST take the ballot of the party they are registered in on Primary Day.
Undeclared voters may choose a party to vote in and then switch back to undeclared status after they vote. Supervisors will be available for this when exiting the polling place.
