Three Arrested After Traffic Stop

A small amount of "illegal prescription pills" were found in the car.

Three people were arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Millville Street in Salem Saturday in which two were found to be in possession of drugs.

Philip Wetmore, 21, and Matthew Hemmerdinger, 19, both of Salem, were both charged with three counts of felony possession of controlled drugs. The driver of the car, Sarah Dawson, 20, of Derry, was charged with operating after revocation and suspended registrations.

Police said they stopped the vehicle at approximately 11:36 a.m. Saturday for a traffic infraction.

After a brief investigation, police found small quantities of illegal prescription pills (oxycodone and one other unknown type) on the passengers.

Police took all three into custody and were later released pending arraignment in the 10th Circuit Court of Salem. Dawson was released on a court summons while Wetmore and Hemmerdinger were each released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.
