Three Injured After Crash on Main Street in Salem
One suffered serious injuries while two others treated; the street was closed for several hours and the investigation is ongoing.

Salem Police and Fire and Rescue teams were called to a serious three-vehicle accident at around 6 a.m. on July 24, 2015, according to reports.
The crash occurred on Main Street just went of Geremonty Drive.
According to police, the initial investigation indicates that a Nissan Pathfinder, being driven by a Merrimac, MA, teen was traveling west and reportedly crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. The Nissan first struck an Infiniti, being operated by a Salem woman. The Infiniti spun out while the Nissan then continued west in the eastbound lane and struck a Dodge Ram pickup truck being driven by a Pelham man.

“This second collision caused significant damage to both vehicles,” according to Lt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to Lawrence General with “serious injuries” while the other two drivers were sent to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA, where they were treated and released.

The Salem Police Technical Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate the crash and the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident, according to Dolan.
Any witnesses to the accident are encouraged to contact the Salem Police Department at 603-893-1911. Main Street was closed for several hours while the reconstruction team worked the scene. The road is now open.
