TiE StartupCon 2017

As far as the future of digital health, it appears there are many challenges ahead from data protection to cost control.

UBERDOC was happy to be selected to exhibit at TIEStartup Con this year. Nearly our entire team was able to be there, attending breakout sessions and networking with others who are in the startup community and those specifically involved in digital health innovation.

Congratulations to the co-chairs (Bobbie Carlton, Pavan Pant, and Laura Teicher), who made an effort to include both men and women as speakers and panelists. As a female entrepreneur, with a nearly all female team, including our tech, we appreciated the effort. As far as the future of digital health, it appears there are many challenges ahead from data protection to cost control. Many companies prefer to remain as a “B-2-B”, selling technology to a middle part, be it the employer or insurance network, and allowing them in turn to engage the patients. The panelists all agreed a “B-2-C” model was much harder. But in the end, healthcare is a personal choice and any platform that doesn’t involve the patient primarily, will most likely suffer the same fate as all the other innovations in healthcare access. It’s time to think differently and put the patient in charge.
