Tuscan Market Hosts First-ever Bocce Tournament

Event starts on Saturday morning.

Tuscan Market in Salem, the largest artisanal marketplace in New England, will host its first-ever Bocce Tournament.

Bocce is a sport played with one small ball (Pallino) and eight larger balls (Bocci). The Pallino is thrown first and becomes the target. The goal is to throw each Bocce ball as close as possible to the Pallino.

The Tuscan Market Bocce Tournament will take place during the course of two days.

The tournament will start with a round robin event taking place on at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. The semi-finals will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26. The tournament will consist of 20 teams with four players per team. All participants will receive team shirts.

The winning team will receive a grand prize of $1,500. The runner up team will receive a prize of $500. There is a $100 signup fee required per team. Team signups and registration fees are due by Monday, Oct. 20. There will be complimentary beer and wine tastings during the tournament.

Guests are invited to an After-Tournament Party & Awards Ceremony on at 1 p.m. on Oct. 26, at the Tuscan Kitchen Wine Bar.
