
Salem Family Resources-Success by 6 is holding two workshops related to families with young children next week.
The next “Ready, Set, Go!” workshop; Learning Begins at Home, for families with young children on will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the North Salem Elementary School, 140 Zion Hill Road.
This session, presented by Allison Plante, Inclusion Facilitator, Salem School District, provides important, fun and easy tips on early learning at home now, that will help children succeed when they enter school.
Parents are their child’s first and most influential teachers. The goal of the “Ready, Set, Go!” program is to work together with parents, schools and community resources to prepare children to be ready for success when they enter school, by providing learning experiences in their very early years, birth to 5.
The workshop is free and open to all Salem parents of young children. Children of all ages are welcome, with child care, pizza for all and a book swap included in the event. The next night, Salem Family Resources in collaboration with the area Early Childhood Mental Health Team hosts Navigating the Single and Co-parenting Waters: Tips and Skills to Stay Afloat, a workshop for single and co-parenting parents and professionals who support them.
In response to a growing number of “newly-single” and co-parenting parents, this workshop will be presented by Beth Gagnon, LICSW & Joan Tavares, LICSW of Partners in Family Wellness, on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Woodbury Middle School, 206 Main St.

Participants will gain understanding of the emotional effects of divorce on both adults and children, recognize co-parenting pitfalls and challenges, and develop strategies and skills to keep the family on a positive course.
This workshop is free for parents. There is a registration fee for professionals seeking a certificate of attendance. The workshop meets a number of the N.H. Early Childhood and Family Mental Health Competencies.
