WATCH: Lord & Taylor Employees Pepper Sprayed by Alleged Shoplifters

Salem Police are still looking for tips that might lead to the identification of this man and woman who allegedly attacked store employees.

SALEM, NH — The Salem Police Department has released security footage of two suspects who allegedly shoplifted items from Lord & Taylor at the Mall at Rockingham Park and in during the process, reportedly attacked employees trying to stop them. The call came in around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2017, according to Capt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.

Loss prevention employees told police that they saw a man and a woman walk into the store while carrying large bags. The pair reportedly selected sweatpants and sweatshirts, entered a fitting room, but after leaving the fitting rooms, employees stated that they only saw that two pairs of sweatpants that were left behind, Dolan noted.

“(The employees) followed the couple out of the store and into the mall,” Dolan stated. “Once outside (they) attempted to stop the pair at which time the male threw a hot cup of coffee into the face of one of the (loss prevention) officers. (They) could then hear the female yelling at her male accomplice to close his eyes. The two (employees) were then sprayed with a substance they believed to be pepper spray.”

The value of the items was a little less than $700.

The suspects fled through the mall and have not been identified as of Friday afternoon.
