Water Main Break Closes Main Street

The Salem Police Department is rerouting traffic on Main Street due to a water main break earlier this morning, according to alerts on Twitter.

The break is at Main and Pleasant streets. Traffic is being detoured through the area. The westbound side of Main is closed at Depot and the eastbound side is closed at Policy Street. Pleasant Street is closed at Mall Road.

Police are also asking everyone to avoid the area or seek alternative routes, if possible, since only local traffic is being allowed on the roads.
