Wine, Food, Auction, and a TV Star!

ACT Theater Company invites you to their 3rd Annual “Taste of ACT” fundraiser, taking place at Salvatore’s Event and Conference Center in Lawrence, MA, Friday November 14th at 7:00 p.m. This wonderful night features a wine & beer tasting, food tasting from vendors around the Merrimack Valley and a fantastic auction full of amazing items. All funds raised from the event will go to directly benefit ACT Theater Company, a non-profit group based in North Andover, MA. The evening is being co-hosted Amber Benson, a TV/Film star, director, and writer, best known for her role of Tara Maclay on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Christopher Golden, local award-winning author and screen writer.

ACT Theater Company recently opened a theater in North Andover, MA where they performed their fall musical, Young Frankenstein, to packed houses over the course of two weekends. The group is already busy on their next two projects and cotinuing improvements on their space and theater. The Taste of ACT is their biggest fundraiser of the year. ”This event is a yearly tradition we began three years ago,” says Cara Kennedy, the event organizer. We have been in different locations over the years, but the recipe for success remains the same- and each year it just gets better and better!”

The auction this year boasts one of a kind items and collectibles, such as signed copies of books from NYT best selling authors Jodi Picoult, Charlene Harris and countless others, sports and theater tickets, trips to the Carribean, a house on the Cape for a week, handmade jewelry, and much more! ”There is something for everyone at this auction,” says Charles Gracy, the Artistic Director of ACT. “It’s so amazing to see how the community businesses and organizations have stepped up to support ACT and our mission, and allowed us to assemble a truly amazing selection of items that promise to wow the crowd.”

Attendees will be entertained throughout the evening by live cabaret peformances from ACT members of all ages. “It’s always really special to see kids, teens and adults performing for the crowd in such an intimate setting. It’s one thing to be able to perform in front of a crowd on, but it’s much more personal to be performing mere feet from people. Our members, young and old, are the heart and soul of ACT- so to see them in one room performing for an event that is so important to our operating budget is really great,” says Kennedy.
