Massachusetts Woman Accused Of Wrong-Way Drunken Driving On I-93 In Salem, Windham
Michelle Valdez of Andover was arrested Wednesday on reckless conduct and operation charges accused of driving north in the southbound lane.

SALEM, NH — A woman from Massachusetts was arrested on charges on Wednesday accused of wrong-way drunken driving on Interstate 93.
Around 2:45 a.m., New Hampshire State Police received a report from their comrades in the Bay State about a wrong-way driver in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driving north in the southbound lane, heading into the Granite State from Methuen, MA. Other callers, too, according to Amber Lagace, a public information officer for state police, reported the vehicle.
Troopers and Windham police were sent to the highway and met up with the vehicle, which was north of the area of Exit 2 in Salem.

“It (was) stopped in the left breakdown lane, still facing north,” she said.
The driver, Michelle Valdez, 31, of Andover, MA, was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, reckless operation, and driving while intoxicated. She will be arraigned in Rockingham County Superior Court at a future date.
