Women with Baby Arrested for Shoplifting

The following arrest information was supplied by the Salem Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 4

• 12:17 p.m.: Kayla Elizabeth Cardenas, 19, of 3 Meisner Circle, Apt. #13, Salem was arrested on a warrant and charged with receiving stolen property. She was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail.
• 1:49 p.m.: Katherine Zayas-Santiago, 24, and Yolanda Yara, 18, both of 338 Chestnut St., Lawrence, MA were charged with willful concealment. They were arrested after an alleged shoplifting incident at the Kmart on South Broadway. One of the women reportedly had a baby with her. Both women were released on bail.
• 1:51 p.m.: Khanh Ngoc Ong, 41, of 2 Freeman St., Apt. #2, Dorchester, MA was charged with receiving stolen property, two prior convictions. He was arrested after he allegedly stole some leather jackets from JC Penney on Rockingham Park Boulevard.
• 2:23 p.m.: An employee at Kmart on South Broadway reported that a bomb scare was called in to the store.
• 5:48 p.m.: Police received a report of a 2-car accident with no injury on Tyler Street.
