2-Alarm Fire in Windham Business Plaza

The blaze was first reported around 2:45 p.m. Thursday.

UPDATE, 3:15 P.M.: The fire has reportedly been knocked down and the incident is now under control, according to emergency radio broadcasts.

The fire reportedly started at , a cake business that was slated to open on Oct. 1. Co-owner Charles Basner said the space had been completely gutted and there was nothing inside except for scrap wood, so he isn't sure how the fire might have started. Basner was not inside the building when the fire started, but said a plumber and another contractor might have been doing some work.

Firefighters are at the scene of a 2-alarm fire on Indian Rock Road.

The call for a building fire in an unknown type structure at 25 Indian Rock Road (Route 111) came across around 2:45 p.m., according to emergency radio broadcasts. Smoke is reportedly showing from the building.

The site of the fire, 25 Indian Rock Road, is known as The Commons plaza, and houses several businesses, including Kumo Sushi, Windham Orthodontics, The Stove Shoppe and Lithea Skincare.
