The 5th grade Wolverines started the season Sunday with a strong win against Milford. The first quarter was a tight battle, a few yards here and there, and both teams maintained a strong defense to end the quarter with a 0-0 score.
Windham defense came out strong in the second to hold Milford and regain possession of the ball quickly. The offense then fired back with a run up the middle by Joseph DaSilva for the first touchdown of the season! They succeeded in the attempt for the extra point with a run to the outside by Curtis Shattuck. Milford fought back but was shut down with an explosive tackle by Tyler Mueller and a strong defensive line consisting of Joseph Pallaria, Thomas McNeal, Bradley Valo, and Zacharie Leclerc. With minutes left in the second, Curtis Shattuck broke free for a 50 yard run, putting the Wolverines in a great position. Jon Krikorian then made the catch to run in another Windham touchdown, followed by the extra point to end the second quarter with a score of Wolverines - 14 and Milford - 0.
Windham offense hit the ground running in the third with yards gained by Jackson Mahoney and Tyler Mueller putting Westin Lippold in position to run the ball up the middle for an early touchdown. The defense stayed strong, holding Milford with no score. Windham gained possession early and on the 3rd down, Jacob George had a hard block opening the field for Rocky Heres to break through for a 50 yard touchdown run to give the Wolverines 26 at the end of the third quarter.

Windham started the fourth with a quick touchdown and tight defense led by Stephen Mague and Brayden DeCotis, ending their first season game with a score of Wolverines – 32 and Milford – 0.
