Stone Arch Condominium Book Club welcomed Betsy Millane, the author of Sixty Blades of Grass, to their September meeting. Members of the club and other residents enjoyed Betsy's discussion of her book about her family's involvement in the Dutch Resistance during WWII. Betsy also talked about her writing process and first experience of having a book published.
Sixty Blades of Grass is a moving WWII drama based on true events, The bond between a Dutch teenager and her father is tested as the Resistance wages its secret war against the Nazis in this suspenseful and emotional novel.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed Betsy's presentation and had many questions about her family, who she first met in 1978, during her junior year abroad. Betsy had questions for the readers as well. She asked what our favorite chapters were, our favorite characters, and why.
