Windham High School Swim Teams Shine at States

     The Windham High School Swim Teams had outstanding performances at the University of New Hampshire on Sunday at the New Hampshire Division ll Swimming and Diving Championships with the boys' team finishing third with 149 points and the girls' team finishing fifth with 76 points.  Last year both teams finished seventh with 61 and 75 points respectively.  Eight new boys Windham High School Swim Team records were set during the meet (noted by *).  

     The girls team had four swimmers who qualified to swim in seven individual events and the boys had nine swimmers qualify to swim in sixteen individual events.  Both teams and also had all three relay teams qualify.


      The girls results were:

 100 backstroke  1:11.93  14th place

 Lauren Clemons
 200 free  2:20.71  14th place
 100 butterfly  1:14.85  14th place

 Anna Matsco
 200 free  2:14.71  8th place
 500 free  5:54.24  10th place

 Meghan O'Connor
100 butterfly  1:02.25  2nd place
100 backstroke  1:03.31  4th place

     The girls on the state team for relays were Ashley Domogala, Bethany Fennessey and Laura Pomeroy.

     The results were:

200 medley relay  2:07.36  3rd Place  Meghan O'Connor backstroke 29.58, Ashley Domogala breaststroke 38.76, Anna Matsco butterfly  30.45, Lauren Clemons freestyle  28.57

200 free relay  2:02.62  12th place  Kyana Baiguy 29.91, Bethany Fennessey 31.32, Ashley Domogala 31.29, Laura Pomeroy 30.10

400 free relay  4:11.23  6th place  Anna Matsco 1:01.61, Laura Pomeroy 1:04.40, Lauren Clemons 1:04.53, Meghan O'Connor 1:00.69

     Coach Sheryl Scott congratulated all her swimmers on a great year and thanked her assistant coaches, school administration, parents and fans for all their support during the year.
