Birdsell Applauds Passage of SB 509

State Senator for Windham says bill will strengthen voter laws in the Granite State.

CONCORD, NH - Windham's state Senator applauded the passage of a bill today that she said will strengthen voter laws in New Hampshire.

The House approved SB 509 on April 202, 106, a bill changing the procedure for investigating new voters who do not confirm their residency status in New Hampshire.

Birdsell, R-Hampstead, who represents Windham, said the legislation played an important role in protecting New Hampshire residents’ right to vote by allowing the Secretary of State’s office to take on a new voter registration verification process, and the Attorney General’s office to focus exclusively on investigating voter fraud cases and enforcing voter laws in the state.
