Gymnasts take home first place team awards

At their third meet of the season, the gymnasts from Phantom Gymnastics in Hampstead took home enough top medals to decorate their own holiday tree this year. The three compulsory-level teams earned a number of top individual awards as well as first place for the level five and six teams at the Judges Cup meet in Brentwood over the weekend of December 8-9.

In what might be a first for the gym, six level 5 girls won first place in the all-around for their age group. 

Some of the highlights for local girls include:

Level 4

Camryn Rueda, of Windham, was first on vault with a 9.325, second on floor with a 9.2 and fourth on bars and beam. She came in second in the all-around with a 36.475.

Ava Sanchez, of Windham, was second on floor with a 9.1 and third on vault with a 9.2. 

Erin Ross, of Salem, was 3^rd on floor with a 9.15. She took sixth place in the all-around.

Haley Farrell, of Salem, scored a 9.05 on vault. 

Christina Pelekasis, of Salem, took fifth on beam with an 8.6. 

Jenny Gouthrou, of Salem, took fourth on bars and fifth on floor. She placed sixth in the all-around. 

Level 5 - The girls took first place in the team competition

Emily Jones, of Salem, was one of the six girls to take first place in the all-around for her age group. She also earned first place on vault (8.8), beam (9.0) and floor (8.525). She was second in bars (9.35) and first in the all-around with a score of 35.675.

Level 6 - The girls took first place in the team competition

Kacie Blanchet, of Salem, was first on bars  (8.875), third on vault (8.95) and fourth on floor (8.7). She won fourth in the all-around with a 34.525. 

Sydney Chretien, of Salem, was first on vault (9.275) on vault and took fifth on floor. She was fifth in the all-around with a total score of 34.45.

Kasey Hartman, of Salem, took first on vault (9.35) and floor (9.1). She was second on bars (8.75) and took first in the all-around with a total score of 35.9.

Elizabeth Aldrich, of Salem, was second on floor (9.025), third on beam (9.075) and fourth on vault (8.625). She came in 2^nd in the all-around with a 35.075.

Jordan Wakim, of Salem, was first on bars (8.8) and beam (9.15) and fourth on floor. She took third in the all-around with a 35.025.

Phantom Gymnastics is a competitive gymnastics program located on Route 111 in Hampstead and draws gymnasts from across Southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.
