Phantom Gymnastics wins 'Ultra Team' at Team Challenge meet

Local gymnasts help their gym to win top award at competitive Connecticut meet.

 

Danbury, Conn., ~ With more than 30 teams from across the Northeast participating, Phantom Gymnastics took home the “Ultra Team” award for overall team scores at the recent Team Challenge meet in Danbury, Ct. The top scores for each level were tallied and added together to come out with a total for the event.

At the level meets, Phantom girls earned top spots in individual and all-around contests over the busy weekend of February 15-17.

 COMPULSORY

 Level 4

Camryn Rueda, of Windham, earned an almost perfect score of 9.9 for her beam routine. She took first on beam and on bars (9.575) and floor (9.625) and 3rd on vault. She won the all-around for the junior division with an all-around score of 38.3.

Ava Sanchez, of Windham, was sixth on bars with a 9.375. She scored a 9.225 on floor and a 36.15 in the all-around in the junior division. 

Erin Ross, of Salem, was second on beam with a 9.7, first on floor with a 9.625 and took fourth in the all-around in the junior division with a 37.175. 

Haley Farrell, of Salem, scored a 9.325 on floor, a 9.0 on vault and finished with a 35.875 in the intermediate division.

Christina Pelekasis, of Salem, earned a 9.275 on floor, a 9.2 on bars and 35.675 in the all-around in the intermediate division. 

Jenny Gouthrou, of Salem, took third on beam with a 9.4 and scored a 9.3 on bars. She finished with a 37.05 in the all-around in the intermediate division.

 

Level 5 

Emily Jones, of Salem, took fourth on bars with a score of 9.55 and 5th  on beam with a 9.3. She earned a 36.6 in the all-around in the senior division.

 

Level 6 

Kacie Blanchet, of Salem, was second on bars (9.375) and took fourth on floor (9.7). She earned an all-around score of 37.1 in the junior division.

Sydney Chretien, of Salem, was first on beam (9.675), second on vault (9.45) and fourth on floor (9.4). She was third in the all-around for the intermediate division with a 37.125.

Kasey Hartman, of Salem, took first on vault (9.6) and floor (9.825). She placed second on bars (9.25) and third on beam (9.525) and won the all-around with a total score of 38.2 in the senior division.

Elizabeth Aldrich, of Salem, was second on beam (9.6) and fourth on floor (9.55). She placed 5th in the all-around with a score of 36.45 in the senior division.

Jordan Wakim, of Salem, was first on bars with a 9.35 and fifth on beam (9.3) and floor (9.4). She took second in the all-around for the senior division with a score of 37.05.

 

OPTIONALS

Level 7:

Olivia Faro, of Windham, was second on bars (9.45) and floor (9.25). She placed fourth on beam (9.475) and fifth on vault (9.275). She took second place in the all-around in the junior division with a total score of 37.45.

Morgan Suech, of Windham, took first place on vault with a 9.425 and earned a 9.06 on bars. She finished with a total score of 36.075 in the junior division.

Sydney Bartlett, of Salem, coming back from injury, earned a 9.0 on floor.

Scarlett Souter, of Windham, took first on vault (9.6), bars (9.2),and floor (9.425). She placed third on beam with a 9.1 and took first place in the all-around in the senior division with a 37.325.

 

Level 8:

Rebecca Heath, of Windham, was first on bars (9.575) and second on vault (9.325). She was third in the all-around of the junior division with a total of 35.475.

Olivia Champagne, of Salem, was took fifth on bars with a 9.2. She earned a 9.0 on floor and finished with a 34.825.

Gabriella Palermo, of Salem, competed in her first meet since being sidelined with an injury and earned solid scores on vault, beam and floor. 

 

Level 9:

Sara Fisher, of Pelham, was third on beam with an 8.75 and on floor with a 9.25. She took sixth place in the all-around with a total score of 34.7 for the junior division. 

 

 

Phantom Gymnastics is a competitive gymnastics program located on Route 111 in Hampstead and draws gymnasts from across Southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.
