Update on "Important 'Invisible' Committee"

Upcoming WEDC meeting -- when, where, and what's being discussed

Apart from one or two detractors, a recent post with the above title -- noting recent projects and decisions of the Windham Economic Development Committee (“WEDC”) -- brought numerous positive and very encouraging comments. So the series continues with these updates, along with the happy need for a new title in which the word “invisible” no longer pertains!  Look for something different next time.

The most important news is this:  the next meeting of the WEDC takes place this Friday morning, June 14, at 7:30 a.m., at the Windham Planning Office.  As of this writing, the agenda has not yet appeared on the town website, although we are told it could appear any time.

Meanwhile, here are the agenda's three the main items: (1) a summary of WEDC involvement in the Route 111/Range Road traffic light dispute, including a discussion of “next steps” for the WEDC; and (2) updates from several WEDC members who also sit on other town Boards or committees; and (3) reports from WEDC standing committees including the Infrastructure Subcommittee (this is the one exploring options for bringing public water to various commercial areas of town), the Land Use Subcommittee, and Marketing Subcommittee.

It’s an agenda that seems to offer something for everyone.

I also encourage readers to attend Friday’s meeting if only to meet the WEDC’s newest members, among whom you will find some truly remarkable business backgrounds and, one would imagine, diverse points of view.  Readers can find a list of WEDC members at this link: http://www.windhamnewhampshire.com/updated/edc.htm. You will enjoy meeting them, and they may appreciate your input.

Hoping to see many of you there,
