Buy Local Seminar Coming to Windham

The workshop will take place tonight at George Cairns & Sons, Inc.

Windham and Salem are once again teaming up to sponsor a business seminar for local residents, this time on the "buy local" movement.

The workshop, titled "NH Made – Capture the "Buy Local" Movement," is free and open to all members of the local business community. 

The event is scheduled to take place tonight at George Cairns & Sons, Inc. on 8 Ledge Road in Windham. It will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

According to a release on the event, NH Made is an "award-winning statewide marketing organization" designed to increase public awareness and demand for NH-made products and services.

The organization's mission, according to the release, is to strengthen the New Hampshire state economy.

Trish Ballantyne and Ann Vennard of NH Made will be leading the workshop, which is being co-sponsored by the Windham Community Development Department and the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. The two organizations have come together on other occassions this year in what has been a 4-part business series.

In September, held by a representative from the N.H. Small Business Development Center.

As was the case in that seminar, the speakers and hosts for the series are all volunteers.

Events have been held in Windham over the last month that have captured the "buy local" spirit. , was recognized at many locations around town, including several of the businesses in the Village Green Plaza.

 and  held shopping events two weeks ago catering to local business owners.
