Closure Coming to I-93

Pavement marking at new Exit 2 interchange this week.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces night work associated with the construction of the new I-93 Exit 2 Interchange located in Salem, according to a press statement.

Weather permitting; pavement marking crews will re-stripe the interstate on the night of Thursday, June 25, 2015. At the conclusion of Thursday night’s work, I-93 northbound traffic will be shifted to the newly paved portion of roadway.

Construction operations will require traffic on I-93 northbound to be reduced to one lane utilizing a lane closure. This work will take place during non-commuter hours, from approximately 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the $41 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc. from Windham.
