Derryfield Upper School Students Win at Scholastic Art Awards

Students at the school submitted a total of 38 individual visual art pieces.

MANCHESTER, NH - The Derryfield School Creative Arts department recently received notification of six student winners, from Nashua, Hollis, Bedford, Windham, Webster, and Dunbarton, in this year’s Scholastic Art Awards competition.

The Scholastic Art Awards is a competitive juried art competition for students grades 7-12. Artists such as Andy Warhol, John Baldessari, and Richard Avedon are all alumni of this prestigious arts competition that covers not only visual art, but writing as well.

This year, the Derryfield School submitted a total of 38 individual visual art pieces and two portfolios from 22 Upper School students, according to a press statement. Their work was juried next to the artwork of thousands of student artists from all over the state of New Hampshire, and demonstrated a high level of creative vision, ingenuity, and skill.
