Nutcracker Casting and NEDE Company Auditions

New England Dance Ensemble’s (NEDE) annual Performing Company Auditions and Nutcracker Casting will be held on Sunday, September 16 from 1 to 4 pm.  All performers from throughout the area are invited to audition regardless of where they study dance.  This marks the 4^th year the award winning NEDE arts organization will present its professional production of “The Nutcracker” at Windham High School on November 24 and 25, Thanksgiving weekend.  With ties to New York City’s nationally acclaimed American Ballet Theater, NEDE membership provides area dancers the unique opportunity to develop pre-professional dance, acting, and performance skills, and apply what they are learning in their training as part of a professional production environment.   Prospective company members should come to auditions prepared to learn choreography and demonstrate acting and performing skills.  Audition participants are asked to arrive at 21 Buttrick Road in Londonderry (home of Londonderry Dance Academy) 15 minutes prior to scheduled audition times.  Girls over 11 should bring pointe shoes. A large turnout is expected, and the fee to audition is $20.  More information and photos/video are available at www.NEDE.org.   Afternoon audition times for both boys and girls are as follows:

5–6 years       1:00–1:30

7-8 years       1:30-2:00

9-10 years     2:00-2:30

11-13 years  2:30-3:15

14+ years      3:15-4:00
