Five Places to Watch Capitals-Bruins

Here are five spots in the Windham area to gather with your friends.

In case you missed it, the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs began last night, and if the first three games were any indication, this is going to be another wild two months of playoff hockey.

The Boston Bruins will take to the ice tonight in their first playoff game against the Washington Capitals. The B's are looking to hoist the cup for the second year in a row. 

The last team to repeat was the 1997 and 1998 Detroit Red Wings.

A lot of people are very superstitious about where they watch the playoff games, so who knows, if you choose one of the five possible locations below, you could be stuck there agonizing over the black and gold until mid-June.

This popular pub on 57 Rockingham Road has plenty of seats at both the bar and downstairs. A great spot to root for that big Tim Thomas save.

2. HALLIGAN TAVERN (DERRY): This became a prime location for Boston fans to congregate during the 2011 Stanley Cup run. With televisions all around both big and small, it's a great spot to watch Brad Marchand harrass the heck out of his opponents. Find Halligan on 32 West Broadway in Derry, N.H.

Sayde's is located right on 136 Cluff Crossing Road in Salem, N.H. There's plenty of pool and other activities here, as well as the sports bar area to watch Zdeno Chara lay a big hit on an opposing forward.

4. WHIPPERSNAPPERS (LONDONDERRY): Located on 44 Nashua Road in Londonderry, N.H., Whippersnappers has plenty of televisions in the bar area, which is located on the left side when you walk in the front entrance. They have plenty of great beer deals during B's games too so head there to watch Tyler Seguin deke an opposing defender out of his skates.

5. STRANGE BREW TAVERN (MANCHESTER): If you're looking for the best assortment of beer in the area, Strange Brew in Manchester, N.H. is probably the right call. Located on 88 Market St., this bar has dozens of great microbrew options. Head here to watch Claude Julien coach Boston to victory.
