Four Retire From Windham School District
Experienced educators put the final touches on their careers in Windham this month.

They might have had a bigger ceremony, but the students from Windham High School's first senior class weren't the only ones leaving the district this month.
Four educators – three teachers and one long-term instruction assistant – are retiring after decades of service to the community.
Jennifer Kite is the longest tenured. She has delivered 27 years of service to Windham as a speech language pathologist.

Many of the kids who tossed their mortar boards into the air on June 8 also probably went through the classroom of elementary teachers Meredith Leonard and Sherry Dufour.
Both are educators at Windham Center School, with Leonard retiring after 19 years in Windham and Dufour after 26 years.

Dufour is a grade 5 teacher while Leonard is a looping teacher for grades 4 and 5.
Ruth Anne Sminski is also retiring after serving the district as a long-term instruction assistant since 1993, also giving her 19 years of service to Windham.
Also leaving Windham, , is Golden Brook Principal Deb Armfield, who is migrating to become Timberlane Regional School District's new Director of Professional Learning.
The Windham School Board announced at a recent meeting that Armfield will be replaced at GBS by Christi Michaud, who will step up from her role as assistant principal. No announcment has been made as to who will fill Michaud's vacant chair.
According to SAU 28 Human Resources Director Carol St. Pierre, there are also a few teachers who are leaving the district but not retiring. Since not all of those names have gone before the school board, St. Pierre declined to give specifics.
