WINDHAM, NH — The Windham Blackout Cancer Week event is in four weeks and the Windham Jaguars are pleased to announce that they will sell the popular Blackout Cancer shirts online early, starting today, and running through Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, according to a press statement.

Members of the Windham community are invited to wear their T-shirt to games and events during Blackout Cancer Week when our community unites in spirit and fundraising to bring awareness to a disease that has affected all of us in some way. All ages are welcome to participate!

Everyone who purchases the T-shirt will get free admission to the 5th Annual Blackout Cancer Football Game on Friday, Sept. 16. Students are encouraged to wear black to school on this day as well.

All proceeds of the T-shirt sales will go towards pediatric cancer research in honor of Cole Stoddard. Cole died in 2012 when he was 5-years-old of neuroblastoma. His mother, Michelle Stoddard, is a first-grade teacher at Golden Brook School.

“Last year we sold more than 900 T-shirts,” said Senior Football Captain Victor Pizzotti, “This year we hope to sell 1,000. When I see my friends, students, and their families wearing a Blackout Cancer t-shirt around town all year, it’s great to know we are making a difference. The Blackout Cancer game is one of my favorite nights.”

Windham athletic teams have received permission from the NHIAA to play in alternative Blackout uniforms during Blackout Cancer Week. These uniforms feature black jerseys and with gold lettering. The gold represents pediatric cancer as September is pediatric cancer awareness month. Players purchase their own blackout jersey and can name the person they are honoring on the back.

Last year Blackout Cancer Week donated more than $10,000 to cancer research at St. Baldricks Foundation. In addition, thousands of colorful Band-Aids and hundreds of small toys were delivered to patients at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

All are invited to purchase the 2016 Blackout Cancer T-shirts today as they are on-sale now for just one week! To purchase yours please visit to windhamblackoutcancer.org.
