Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce Launches Young Professionals Group

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce just announced that the Greater Derry Londonderry Young Professionals  (GDLYP) will launch next month on September 17, 2013. This brand new offering will provide a much-needed resource to the twenty-something and thirty-somethings currently living, working and staying in the greater Derry & Londonderry region.

The Young Professionals Program is being sponsored by Triangle Credit Union, which will allow for no-cost admittance for GDLYP members.

The first event will be a fast-paced trivia night, hosted by La Carreta Restaurant in Derry. The Young Professionals Group will provide opportunities for area businesses to offer support, networking, training, team-building and social experiences to their up and coming executives and professional staff. Each event will focus on one of the following elements: Building Professional Relationships; Continuing Education and Skills Development; Networking & Business Development; Team Building & Social interactions.

“This program means that recent college graduates, working professionals and young entrepreneurs and executives can take part in networking, team building and educational opportunities relevant to their needs and interests,” says Stacey Bruzzese, Executive Director. “As many of these young business men and women are still working to pay back school loans, our goal is to never charge a fee for participation.”

The Young Professionals Group is being developed by a Committee lead by Jennifer Carron of Anstiss CPAs. Jennifer is a member of the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee of the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce. There are still opportunities to join the planning committee.

The mission of the Greater Derry Londonderry Young Professionals is to serve as a mechanism to attract and retain young professional talent to the Greater Derry Londonderry (NH) area through engagement, opportunity and advocacy. As part of this mission, GDLYP seeks to create a method for professionals in their 20’s and 30’s to build relationships and to develop professionally. GDLYP also seeks to encourage these Young Professionals to become active in our community and contribute to its economic development.
