New York, NY, ~ Competing against some of the best talent from across the country, local gymnasts took center stage at a recent meet in Manhattan, scoring personal bests and taking home top trophies for their performances.
The girls, all members of Phantom Gymnastics’ program, spent a fun-filled weekend in the Big Apple, touring the city’s famous landmarks and enjoying a taste of city life. Invigorated by the electric atmosphere at what proved to be the largest meet of their careers, the gymnasts held their own amidst 3,500 competitors and came up with several top prizes.
They also scored well in the team competitions, with Level 4 taking first place in the meet over 36 other teams. Level 6 was first in session and 2nd in the entire meet of 26 teams. Level 5 was first in session, fifth overall. Level 7 were second in their session and levels 8 and 9 were fourth. Xcel Platinum took third in session and were awarded the coveted “Spirit Award” for their positive attitude and support of other teams.

EXCEL PLATINUM:
Leah Faber, of Salem, was third on beam, fourth on vault and fifth in the all-around with a score of 37.35.
Erin Faber, of Salem, took sixth on beam and seventh in the all-around with a 36.725.
Julia Worden, of Windham, was second on floor, third on bars and took third in the all-around with a score of 36.6.
Nicole Faber, of Salem, was third on vault and fifth on bars. She took fourth in the all-around with at 36.325.
JO:
Level 4:
Camryn Rueda, of Windham, won first place on vault and bars. She took fourth on floor and first in the all-around with a score of 37.2.
Erin Ross, of Salem, was second on floor and fourth on vault. She was fifth in the all-around with a score of 35.8
Ava Sanchez, of Windham, scored an 8.95 on floor.
Jenny Gouthrou, of Salem, scored a 9.15 on bars.
Level 5:
Sofia Licausi, of Pelham, won second on beam, third on floor and took third in the all-around with a 35.55.
Level 6:
Ashley Costa, of Windham, was first on floor and beam, third on bars and first in the all-around with a 37.05.
Sydney Chretien, of Salem, was first on floor, third on beam and first in the all-around with a total score of 36.375.
Elizabeth Aldrich, of Salem, took first on beam, third on vault and floor and second in the all-around with a score of 36.275.
Jordan Wakim, of Salem, took second place on beam and seventh in the all-around with a score of 35.825.
Level 7:
Kasey Hartmann, of Salem, was fourth on bars and floor and fourth in the all-around with a score of 35.75.
Scarlett Souter, of Windham, took fourth on vault and bars. She was 7th in the all-around with a 35.55.
Kacie Blanchet, of Salem, earned a 9.1 on floor.
Level 8:
Gabriella Palermo, of Salem, won first on vault, third on bars, and fifth on beam and floor. She was first in the all-around with a total score of 35.9.
Olivia Champagne, of Salem, was first on vault, and fifth on beam and floor. She finished third in the all-around with a score of 35.45.
Level 9:
Becca Heath, of Windham, was fourth on floor with a score of 9.05.
Phantom Gymnastics is a competitive gymnastics program located on Route 111 in Hampstead and trains gymnasts from across Southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.
