Sports run deep in Windham, and Windham High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Jaguars uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Windham High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.


Abby Husson – Three-Sport All-Star

A multi-sport standout at Windham High School, Abby Husson made her mark as a reliable defender on the soccer field and a team captain in both soccer and basketball. She earned All-State honors her senior year and was selected for the prestigious Lions Cup All-Star Game. At St. John Fisher, Husson continued to contribute as a dedicated teammate, appearing in matches across four seasons while pursuing a degree in nursing. (Source: St. John Fisher Athletics)


Tiger An – Football Star, Shot Putter & Martial Artist

Known for his strength and relentless drive, Tiger An brought a martial artist’s discipline to the football field. The 225-pound running back and linebacker from Windham High School earned a varsity starting spot early and racked up 600+ rushing yards in his sophomore season, much of it after contact. Matt Kearney – Midfield Soccer Maestro

Matt Kearney helped elevate Windham High School’s soccer program during its leap from Division 2 to Division 1, playing a central role as an attacking and defensive midfielder. Sophie Manchester – Double Threat on the Turf

Sophie Manchester’s speed and scoring instincts made her a force in both field hockey and lacrosse at Windham High. A multi-time All-State honoree and Eagle Tribune All-Star, she played a key role in leading her team to multiple deep playoff runs. After high school, she joined Bentley University, where she notched six goals in just five games during her freshman season—including back-to-back multi-goal performances. Alexis Martino — Record-Setting Swimmer

A standout swimmer at Windham High School, Alexis Martino set two New Hampshire Division II state records in a single day, winning the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley at the state championships. The 2022 grad was a two-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star who continued her collegiate swimming career with the UConn Huskies’ swimming and diving program. (Source: University of Connecticut)
