Jim Reams: 'I Don't Know What's Going On'

Following his suspension Thursday amid an investigation by the Attorney General, Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams responded to the probe.

"I don't know what's going on," he told the Eagle-Tribune. 

Attorney General Joseph Foster said his office began investigating after receiving a complaint from a former employee of the Rockingham County Attorney's Office about "managerial and operational issues" at the office. "The allegations were significant," he said.

Foster said he informed the county commissioners that he had suspended the prosecutorial powers of Reams and Deputy County Attorney Tom Reid and would be conducting "a full and complete investigation" into the operations and management of the office.
