Learn More About Cuba Tonight at Nesmith

A presentation will take place at 6 p.m.

Nesmith Library will take on a Carribean feel tonight during a presentation from a local photojournalist.

Monique Baron, who is a full time student at Hampshire College, recently spent a semester in Havana, Cuba.

While out of the country, Baron spent time with two families over a three month time period.

According to a release from Nesmith Library, Baron will give a detailed presentation of the cultural aspects of Cuban music, work, cinematography and art.

Her photographs even chronicle a visit by the Pope.

While abroad in Cuba, Baron studied photography, Cuban cinema and Spanish. She was fully immersed in the culture, living with a Cuban family and being taught by Cuban professors.

The presentation tonight serves as her semester project.
