Local Seventh Grader Wins Barnes and Noble Award
The essay contest asked students to write about their best teacher.
Windham seventh grader Molly McAlpine was one of two students to win the local "My Favorite Teacher" essay contest at Barnes and Noble.
Molly McAlpine won the contest for the area level for her essay on her fifth grade teacher Ashley Moore.
Moore is an educator at Windham Center School.

McAlpine won the contest along with another student from Methuen, and will move on to the regional level of the contest.
The essays asked for kids to share a teacher who influenced their life and why they appreciate and admire them.
