Op/Ed: Republicans, Birdsell Delivering Results

Republicans making great progress for early childhood education and beyond

Midterm elections tends to be a revolt against whichever party is in power in DC but we cannot let DC politics get in the way of the results we are seeing in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Republicans and our State Senator, Regina Birdsell, are delivering results for our families and our children. When we cut through the campaign innuendo and rhetoric from their political opponents, it is easy to see.

For the first time in New Hampshire history, the state will be offering funding for full day kindergarten to towns who want it and I thank Senator Regina Birdsell, Govnernor Sununu and our Republican House members for doing so without raising or creating a tax to fund it.

Not only are Republicans making strides for early childhood education but also they are continuing this support as schooling continues.

For high schoolers, NH now allows dual and current enrollment of high school students in college level courses at local community colleges. On top of this, we now have the Governor’s scholarship fund for NH high school seniors who wish to stay in state and attend college in NH. We have seen big steps toward workforce development, retaining our young people, and attracting new families to our state.

Lastly, this one should hit home to all the parents raising children in this sometimes-chaotic world. Republicans in Concord dramatically increased the ability of our schools to protect our children by appropriating $10 million to improve security in schools.

Senator Regina Birdsell, Governor Sununu, and Republicans in Concord are fighting for our children and their futures. I encourage you to join me in supporting them at the polls on Tuesday, November 6th. They have earned our vote.
