OBITUARY: Carol Yennaco

Yennaco was a proud mother & devoted wife.

Carol Ann (Travis) Yennaco, 69, of Windham, New Hampshire, passed away at her home Monday evening, April 23, with family close by her side. Carol gracefully and courageously endured a period of decreasing health after being diagnosed with ALS/ Lou Gherig's disease three years ago. She had a strong faith in Christ that carried her throughout her life. 

Born November 6, 1942, she was the oldest daughter of (George) "Bud" and Mildred Travis, of Windham, NH. Carol graduated from Tenney High School in Methuen, MA in 1960. After high school she attended and graduated from McIntosh Business School in Dover, NH and worked for the Raytheon Corp. 

Carol met the love of her life, Douglas Anthony Yennaco on Cobbett's Pond in Windham, NH. They were married on May 1, 1964 at the Windham Presbyterian Church. They resided in Windham where they raised three beloved children; Cheryl . Debby, and Jeff. Carol was an amazing and proud mother & devoted wife dedicated to caring for her family.  

Carol  was a partner in the family business, Atlantic Awning Co.  She also had a passion for real estate and politics. She created her own land development company C.A.Y Corp. and served two terms as a NH State Rep. She was also a founding member and served as President for the Ladies Lions Club of Windham. 

Carol and her loving husband made their home between Windham, NH and Naples, FL . Carol enjoyed walks on the beach collecting sea shells of all kinds, especially sand dollars. Her greatest loves were spending time with family and friends as well as traveling, shopping, and dining. 

Carol is predeceased by her father "Bud" and mother Mildred Travis, longtime residents of Windham, NH. 

A one-of-a-kind wife, mother, nana, relative, and friend, Carol will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. She is survived by her beloved and devoted  husband, Douglas Yennaco of Windham, her two loving daughters  Cheryl Horton Yennaco and husband Mark Horton, Debby Yennaco-Peretz and husband Gal Peretz, and her loving son Jeffrey Yennaco and wife Allyson Kachanian Yennaco, all of Windham, NH; her cherished grandchildren Max and Zack Horton, Aidan, Jalen, and Bayla Peretz, and Avan and Marah Yennaco, also of Windham; her sister Gail (Travis) Wilen and husband Bruce, and brothers Donald and William Travis and wife Elaine, all of Windham; and also by dearest nieces and nephews, adored extended family, and many treasured friends.

Funeral Services by Goundrey & Dewhirst Friday 3-7, 42 Main Street Salem, N.H. 03079. 

Windham Presbyterian Church Saturday Services: 10 a.m., immediately following, reception at church to follow burial services.
