Police-Involved Shooting in Windham

The incident occurred early Sunday on Lowell Road.

UPDATE (12:13 p.m.): State and local police are still at the scene of a shooting incident on Lowell Road.

The crime scene is still active, and the road is closed to traffic between the Cobbett's Pond Plaza area and the Golden Brook Road area.

A beat-up vehicle is visible on the scene along with several police officers.

One resident reported by email just after 2 a.m. that huge tire noises were heard along with the sirens and shots fired.

AN EARLIER STORY FOLLOWS

The Attorney General's Office and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting which took place on Lowell Road in Windham early Sunday.

According to the attorney general, no officers were injured, and the person shot, Grant Hebert, 21, of Pelham, is being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting reportedly occurred between 1:30 and 2 a.m. in the area of 47 Lowell Road, according to emergency radio broadcasts. Reports said that one subject was shot multiple times by police and emergency medical technicians were called to the scene. The road was reportedly closed shortly thereafter.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is expected to be released today.
