POTD: A Hefty Check For Charity
Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County received it on Tuesday.

They received a nod during Gov. John Lynch's speech last Friday, and with good reason – Windham High School's "Do Good" club recently raised about $2,900 in funds for Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County.
Members of the club presented the check on Tuesday to Melanie Nesheim, the president of FPGRC. The money was raised at a black light dance held in April.
During the course of the entire 2011-2012 school year, the club raised over $3,000 for the charity, which helps homeless children and their families.

According to a release from Nesheim, FPGRC has also recruited 10 host sites, which is the minimum required to open its doors to homeless families with children. Those sites expect to be open by 2013, which Nesheim said will be helpful to the 158 families in the area with no shelter in Salem, Derry or any surrounding towns.
