Report: Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski Won't Face Battery Charge

Palm Beach County state attorney will hold a news conference to explain the dropped battery charge against NH political operative.

Politico.com broke the story last night after a source leaked the information to the political site. A number of news organizations attempted to follow-up the rumor but were unable to confirm it. This morning, the Palm Beach County state attorney announced that the department would be holding a press conference about the matter, according to the New York Times.

The New Hampshire political operative, who lives in Windham, was charged with simple battery on March 8, 2016, after surveillance video was released to investigators and appeared to show Lewandowski grabbing Fields. Fields stated to a reporter after the incident that Lewandowski was “grabbing me down” while Lewandowski was recorded saying, “Excuse me, thank you,” while trying to make his way through the scrum.
