Op-Ed: Windham State Senator Regina Birdsell For Re-Election

To the voters of Windham, Derry, and Hampstead

New Hampshire is the best place to start a family, a career, and a life. People from all over the country come here to visit or vacation and immediately fall in love with our beautiful state.

I am running for re-election because I want New Hampshire to remain a desirable place to build a future. To do this we need to continue to keep our state budget balanced, continue to fight for efficient government spending, continue to invest in our workforce, continue to work on a new education funding formula for our public schools, and continue to support policies that allow our businesses to compete in a 21st century economy.

As your Senator I put our families and businesses first. I am proud to have served in a State Senate who led the way for passing all-day kindergarten, created scholarships for NH high school students wishing to attend college in state, appropriated money to our schools for increased security, provided more funds for opioid treatment as well as law enforcement to combat drug dealers, reduced business taxes, returned $39 million to towns for infrastructure investment and local drinking water projects, supported renewable energy projects, filled the state’s Rainy Day Fund with $100 million in case of economic emergency, established a Sexual Assault Survivor’s Bill of Rights, enacted a fetal homicide law to provide justice for expecting mothers who lose their babies to acts of violence or misconduct, expanded the resources available for those suffering from mental health issues, and enacted policies which have New Hampshire’s unemployment rate at an all time low and added 11,200 jobs to our economy in the past two years. And I will add that all of this was done without any new taxes or fees.

I am honored to be your voice in Concord, to be full time advocate for the families and businesses of Derry, Hampstead, and Windham, and to be an ally to Governor Chris Sununu. I would be humbled to earn your vote for re-election on Tuesday, November 6th.

State Senator Regina Birdsell
