Senator Regina Birdsell can be trusted as our voice in Concord

Since graduating from UNH three years ago, I have noticed something. Many of my friends struggled to find work in New Hampshire and most job openings had dozens of applicants ranging from new college grads to folks with 20 or more years in the industry. The only jobs they could get were part-time. Many of my friends and peers were then forced to seek employment elsewhere- some moved to Texas, some to Colorado, a handful further west, and many others moved to or commute to Massachusetts.

This seemed odd to me. I was told my whole life that we had the “New Hampshire Advantage”. I did some research and I saw our downward trend of prosperity ran parallel with 2 decades of liberal Governors and legislatures that suffocated our businesses and refused to adapt.

The surrounding New England states and others across the country began adopting more business friendly legislation and New Hampshire remained stagnant. Other states were offering fewer regulations on job creators, cheap and reliable sources of energy, and competitive healthcare options. It became very clear why companies continue to choose other states to do business in and why my friends decided to leave.

Our state needs legislators who understand what it will take to reclaim our title as the most prosperous state in New England and who will support policies that promote a stronger economy. The government doesn’t create jobs, nor should it, but it can create an environment for job creators to thrive.

This is why I am encouraging everyone in Hampstead, Derry and Windham to support Republican State Senator Regina Birdsell for re-election.

Regina knows that New Hampshire’s best days are ahead of us. New Hampshire can achieve more prosperity through a commonsense approach to government that will allow businesses to flourish. This means passing balanced budgets, further lowering taxes on our business community, working to reduce electric rates and energy costs, lessening the regulatory burdens imposed on new and existing businesses, and ensuring our students are receiving the best education possible to prepare them to enter the workforce.

Regina’s pro-business, free market reputation is well documented and her record speaks for itself. Regina earned a 100% rating from both the National Federation of Independent Businesses and Americans for Prosperity in 2014, received a 90% rating from the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association in 2015, and has been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Businesses in 2016.

Regina can be trusted as our voice in Concord and she has the record to prove it.
