WINDHAM, NH — Voters in Windham went to the polls Tuesday and approved both the town and school operating budgets but rejected a new water line proposal. The water line proposal, a $9.5 million project with about $6.3 million to be bonded, was one of two warrant articles that were rejected by voters. The water line proposal needed at 60 percent majority of the nearly 2,500 voters cast on the measure but it fell about 800 votes short.

A citizen petition requesting the removal of a deed restriction on three lots on Third Street was rejected by more than 800 votes.

All the other town articles were approved.
