State Liquor Commission Charges Two Store Clerks
Cashiers sold a confidential informant alcohol in two Windham locations.

A sweep of compliance checks at local alcohol retailers turned up two charges of illegal alcohol sales last week, according to police.
The N.H. Liquor Ccommission carried out its random checks in Windham on Dec. 6, sending a confidential informant in to several stores around town. Shari Lee Roy, 44, of Litchfield, N.H. and Khanubai Patel, 59, of Windham were both charged within an hour of one another.
Roy was working at Waterhouse Country Store and Patel was working at Windham Variety.

According to Windham Police Capt. Carl Wagner, the informant will typically go into the store without identification and pose as a customer.
Wagner said that there is no set schedule to the checks.

"They'll hit the towns randomly, but they'll hit every convenience store that sells alcohol," said Wagner.
In both instances, the cashier provided the informant with a 24-ounce can of beer.
Both Roy and Patel were issued a summons to appear in court on Jan. 23.
