
With one fast and furious swoop…BOOM…summer is over. Well not quite yet but we all wrap it up after Labor Day typically. Kids back to school and that nice Sun is not so social lately. WOW! What a summer!!!No more excuses now! The kiddos are in school and you have MORE time to hit the gym. It’s time to kick it into high gear and grind through a very tough time frame. I call it the “Ferocious Fat Storing Four”! Four evil months of tempting, tasty and terrible times that will lay down some serious pounds on our bodies if not careful! It starts after Labor Day. We must hold on and be strong till New Years!Typical weight gain between these months is a good 10-15 pounds and sometimes more. People shut it down (will power) after summer when they can cover up those bodies. No accountability and way too many opportunities to eat badly.
The ferocious Fatty Four goes down like this:

*Labor Day arrives and most people who were diligent during summer months are burnt out from eating clean and “need more variety”. The ones that were not exercising and “entertaining” guests all summer at cookouts and parties have decided they are “going to get serious”….after the first of year. In either situation both types decide they are going to “live a little”
*Couple of newly pounds of bloatiness appears….After packing on a couple pounds from eating “less strict”, Halloween approaches and all the sugar(rocket fuel for fat storage)starts to come out everywhere in the supermarkets. Everywhere you turn, there’s some tempting treats. People stock up on the candy early (to be safe…lol).

*a few more pounds of giggly awfulness get put on…Halloween arrives and after eating most of your “storage “you’ve had to re-stock(to be safe).The goulash night passes and all the kiddos had a great time as they further contribute to the obesity rate.Of course there is extra candy left and it either gets consumed or brought to the work place. I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy.
*Now several more pounds are hanging on and you are ready to strangle the scale. You attempt to hit the gym after starving yourselves thinking that will help burn fat….not!!You get frustrated and try your best to bring down that scale but all your hard efforts just can’t overcome. You tell yourself “I’m getting serious “after first of year.
Thanksgiving comes with a vengeance! The mother of all “un-commitment” for most. Willpower knows no such place during these times. You’ve already packed on a good ten pounds and you know you’re about to double digit those numbers with a tornado of tempting terribleness.
*The scale is chuckling at you now.You want to strangle it and you’ve managed to pack on 5 more pounds….yikes!!
YOU tell yourself…..”THAT’S IT….I’m "getting serious after first of the year”.Well, guess what? Christmas has arrived. OH Boy!!”Why bother working out now” you try to convince yourself. After all, you know you’ll be “living a little” on this holiday. The joyess holiday brings not only many beautiful gifts but also the horrendousness of another few pounds. Your clothes no longer fit and you’re hoping for some Holiday gift cards to mall for new ones. Yikes!!!
*THE NEW YEAR RIDES IN!!And so do you on a flatbed truck from four months of “living a little”. A good 15 pounds of terribleness has taken over your body that you worked so hard to sculpt all summer. Was it worth it? The damage is done and time to take action. YOU CAN fix the damage but it all depends on you! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!Get back on it and do not let it happen again next year! If you’re reading this now you still have time to avoid. You can” live a little”(time spent in the gym) You’ll be happy you did first of the year!
