The High Cost of Higher Education
A report released this week points to high tuition and the lack of affordable options.
New Hampshire ranks first in the nation in average college debt. Why is that? A new report points to a combination of high tuition, a lack of affordable options and weak state funding.
According to the Associated Press, the report found that three-quarters of New Hampshire students graduated with debt in 2011. The average amount was more than $32,000.
The report was conducted by Brian Gottlob of PolEcon Research for Granite State Management Resources.
