Two Scholarships Available for High School Seniors

Both are associated with Windham Endowment, with applications due March 31.

High school seniors in the Windham community have two scholarships that they can apply for in town during the months of February and March.

The first is the Coish Family Scholarship, which is now accepting applications for students who have participated in one or more sports at Windham High School while maintaining a 3.0 GPA.

That award will be for $1,000 and will be presented in late spring. It may be used for tuition, living expenses, books or supplies.

While both scholarships are similar in that financial need is not a requirement, the Windham Endowment scholarship has a different mission for the student it is seeking.

The scholarship is aligned with the group's mission and will be awarded to a student who has been involved in community service in Windham or elsewhere, with activities specifically oriented toward "enhancing the quality of life for Windham residents."

Students seeking either scholarship must be graduating in 2012, and also be enrolled in a degree or certification program by January 2013.

Both applications are available online at the Windham Endowment website by clicking here. Information can also be found at the Windham High School guidance department.

The deadline to apply for both scholarships is March 31.
