VIDEO: Cutting Edge Dental Office Joins the Community

Windham's newest practice offers a spacious environment with a convenient location.

The Windham community got together on Saturday morning to give a big hello to the town's newest dental practice.

With a wide smile on her face, Dr. Gayla Levine of Village Green Family Dentistry opened her doors to the public for her grand opening celebration. Before the clock even reached the 10 a.m. start time for the event, visitors were already lined up at the front desk to introduce themselves.

A lot of area businesses in the plaza were enthusiastic about the launch, stopping by to offer up their support to Levine. Those businesses also opened up their doors during the two-hour celebration, promoting their individual causes with raffles.

For Levine, it's been nothing but warm remarks from those who have contacted her.

"The community has been so welcoming," said Levine. "I've just been getting random emails from people telling me they are excited that something is going in the space."

That space, according to Community Development Director Laura Scott, was vacant for over two years before Levine came to fill the void. The owner of Windham's newest dental practice discovered the vacancy while purchasing her house from a real estate agent.

That agent happened to be in the same exact plaza.

"We kept saying I wonder if they're going to do anything with that building," said Levine.

In the end it was Levine who did something about it, and she's happy about the results.

Equally happy is Kimberly Pajak, who will serve as Levine's dental assistant. Pajak was also on hand to shake hands with the townspeople, along with her 19-month-old son Connor.

Pajak lives in Hudson and has been a dental assistant for nine years. She met Levine through her other office in Andover, where Levine was a patient. When she found out Levine was opening a new practice, she was quick to approach her for a job.

"It's always been a wish of mine in life to help somebody start a practice from scratch," said Pajak. "It actually worked out well for both of us.

Pajak explained the green initiative in the office. They are stressing a modern environment, which includes going chartless and paperless.

"We're trying to use as much environmentally friendly material as we can here," said Pajak.

Lori Glaser Korn, who served as the interior designer for the practice, explained that modernity. During the creation process, Korn traveled from Massachusetts about twice a month over the course of two months. She says the trips were worth it due to Levine's cutting-edge vision.

"Often dentists can be more traditional and conservative," said Korn. "She was oen to doing all kinds of new and different things. I don't mind making the drive when it's an exciting new project."
