WHS Wrestling Recognized for State Championship
Several of the athletes were at Tuesday's School Board meeting.

New Hamsphire Wrestling Coach of the Year Tom Darrin brought a cast of his Windham athletes into Tuesday's School Board meeting for a public recognition of their NHIAA state championship.
The title is the first in the school's history, and while all 32 wrestlers weren't able to pack into the small room, eight were able to attend the meeting.
Fellow coach Jack Byrne also came along for the recognition, singing Darrin's praises in a short address.

"(Tom Darrin) really deserves it," Byrne said. He's waited a long time for it, and we're lucky to have these kids to help him get it.
The team wasn't able to bring the championship banner along as it is already hanging at the high school. School board chairman Bruce Anderson did put the pressure on the coaches, saying that with such a young group of guys he would like to see them next year.

Anderson also acknowledged how difficult the wrestling season is.
"I know how hard you guys work to compete at this level," he said. "It's an incredible commitment to win at this level."
Gage Fenton is the only senior on the team, and was also the captain.
The team also won the sportsmanship award this year.
