Windham Actors Guild Looking for Volunteers

The community theater group has fallen behind on set construction for an upcoming production.

This Saturday, the Windham Actors Guild will hold a work session at the high school and is asking for any volunteers who would be willing to help on set construction and set painting.

The theater group's production of "Arsenic and Old Lace" has hit a snag, as high school students currently working on the set have fallen behind. This weekend's session will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to a message from Dick Forde, who is serving as the stage manager for the production, the importantance of the work session cannot be stressed enough and volunteers are being asked to pitch in for as much time as they can afford.

Forde also told those willing to help out to wear old clothes and bring whatever tools they feel necessary.

The play is set to take place on Nov. 4-6 at the high school auditorium. The production will begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. Two more performances are scheduled on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with a final event on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

This is the second production from the local theater group. In April or May of 2012, the group has plans for a production of "The Music Man."
