In May 2021, officials charged Petrosh with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds.

Petrosh's mother told a friend he had been there. The friend told her grandchild, who alerted the FBI.

Court documents show he entered the Capitol Rotunda, stole two microphones from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's lectern, and smoked a cigarette in the building, according to the Courier Post.

Both men agreed to pay restitution and cooperate with the investigation going forward, the Courier Post reported.
