Up To 3 Inches Of Snow Expected This Weekend In Parts Of NJ
The northwest corner of the state has the best chance of snow Friday night into Saturday, while the rest could see a light dusting.

NEW JERSEY — The northwest corner of New Jersey is expected to get 1 to 3 inches of snow Friday night into Saturday, with a light dusting of snow in store for the rest of the state, as a weak system moves through the region, according to the latest forecast.
An Alberta clipper storm is heading towards the coast, where it could transform into a coastal storm, according to AccuWeather forecasters. This could cause more snow than is predicted.
Still, most of the state is expected to see a dusting of less than 1 inch of snow, according to the National Weather Service. Northwest Jersey will get mainly snow and as you head into Central Jersey, it will be more of a rain and snow mix. As we go southeast of the I-95 corridor, it will be mainly rain with periods of snow at night.

There could be some variations, however.
"It should be noted though that these type of inverted trough setups are notoriously difficult to forecast as they can sometimes have localized heavier precipitation amounts," National Weather Service forecasters said Thursday morning. "If this occurs, some areas could 'over perform' and see snowfall amounts as high as 4 or 5 inches."

If that's the case, heavier snow would fall in Central to Northwest Jersey.
Temperatures will drop over the weekend, with overnight lows in the teens to single digits. This will be the coldest weather of the season so far, forecasters warn.
