5 Things To Do In New Jersey This Weekend

Check out five things to do in the Garden State this Father's Day weekend, including a car show, train rides, and live music.

NEW JERSEY — Looking to get out of the house on Saturday and Sunday? This Father’s Day weekend —and with Juneteenth on Monday and Pride Month still going on — there are quite a few things to do in the Garden State.

Patch rounded up five events on the calendar in New Jersey, from car shows and train rides with Dad to music and Juneteenth celebrations. There is also a two-day Native American cultural celebration happening in Middlesex County.

Father’s Day Winery Weekend, Terhune Orchards (Princeton)

Wine tastings are $2 off for dads this weekend at the vineyards and winery, and the whole family can enjoy visiting the barnyard and animals, or playing on the tractors. Music and light fare will “satisfy the whole family.” You can also take a walk on the farm trail or farm store.

Father's Day Train Rides, Whippany Railway Museum (Whippany)

Is Dad a historical train buff? Whippany Railway Museum has special excursions Sunday, scheduled between 1 and 4 p.m. The trains feature a unique collection of restored vintage rail cars from historic railroads in the area. " Climb aboard a caboose and experience an old-fashioned, relaxing way of spending a Sunday afternoon with the family."

Jersey Shore Car Shows, Forked River

If dad's a big car guy, this is a great choice for Sunday. Trophies will be awarded, plus there will be food, music and fun for all, at this event at Lacey United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit Jersey Shore Car Shows for more information.

North To Shore Fest, Asbury Park

North2Shore is in Asbury Park this weekend, for the second weekend of NJ’s three-city summer festival, with headliners The B52's and also a Grateful Dead tribute band. And along with celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride and kicking off Juneteenth, this weekend is full of vendors, artists, performers, and other creatives. Check out the schedule here.

Raritan Native American Heritage Celebration and Pow Wow, Middlesex County

This two-day event is Saturday and Sunday, and hosted by the Redhawk Native American Arts Council. It attracts hundreds of Native American artists, educators, performers, singers, and dancers and there will be more than 40 artist booths with crafts, jewelry, authentic cuisine, and more.
